Film industry is abuzz that veteran heroine Sridevi now wants to make a comeback to small-screen again, but this time onto Telugu TV circuit. The worn out looking beauty is trying hard to be the host of Telugu version of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ that will be aired on a Telugu channel soon, says a source.
Cut to a couple of months back, when Sridevi was given Padma award, the actress organised a special party for all Tamil industry folks and there are no invitees from Hyderabad on the guest list. Also she commented that Tamil movies are more of substance, while Telugu flicks need just glamour. That was anyway a big insult to Tollywood who offered her all kind of roles, and that too by paying her hefty remuneration. And right now, she is expecting around 20 lakhs per episode for hosting Telugu KBC and once again she is planning to cash on Telugu people and their admiration for her. At a time when none are ready to pay her that price even for a movie, why so much for a game show is the question.
Why should we honour a heroine like Sridevi who got no respect for the industry and land that paid her huge pay-packets and made her a matinee idol? This is the only question that is raised by many corners of Tollywood at the moment. Is Sridevi or her fans having an answer?
