K Balachander Passes Away

Legendary filmmaker K Balachander passed away on Tuesday due to prolonged illness at Kauvery hospital in Chennai.

K Balachander was born on July 9th in the year 1930. He directed 101 Films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi Industries. His directorial debut took place with 'Neerkumizhi' (1965) and 'Abaddam' (2006) mark his last movie.

A recipient of Nine National Film Awards, K Balachander was conferred with prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke and Padma Shri awards. He directed critically acclaimed films like 'Maro Charithra', 'Anthu Leni Katha', 'Idhi Katha Kadu', 'Akali Rajyam' and 'Rudraveena'. 'Uttam Villian' happens to be his last film as an actor.
