The three generation starrer film-Manam-has got the nomination for Oscar under foreign films category entry in to Oscar Film Awards for this year. The Film Federation of India has short listed 30films to make it to Oscars. Manam is one among the thirty.
Acording to reports Telugu Film Producers Council recommended two movies for the Oscars official entry. One is Manam and another is Minugurulu .While Manam is a subject that deals with reincarnation ,Minugurulu delas with the struggles of a blind children.Minugurulu received international awards such as Best Indian Film at the 9th India International Children's Film Festival, official selection in Golden elephant and is being showcased in several film festivals.
‘Good to know that Producers council and Film Federation of India is selecting Minugurulu for Oscar foreign category selections. I know it is only one film they send from India, but it is good to know that Film Federation is selecting Minugurulu all by themselves without my involvement. That’s a pleasant surprise. The Film Federation of India (FFI) will start watching all the 30 nominations it has received from different languages to select India's entry for the Best foreign language film award in the Oscars for 2015 in a couple of days in Hyderabad. They will finalise on the Indian entry around September 25.
