The first ever Agriculture Budget in the history of Andhra Pradesh was put up by Agriculture Minister Pathipati Pulla Rao in legislative Assembly . Total Agriculture Budget is valued at 13108 Crores in which planned expenditure is 6735 Crore while unplanned expenditure is 6373.5 Crore.
Here are the few highlights of Agriculture Budget of AP
An amount of Rs.5,000 cr was allocated for waiving off crop loans About Rs.212 cr was allocated for concessions on seed supply.
Rs.30 cr was given for YSR Horticultural University from central funds.
Rs.348 cr for Water management and drip irrigation
Rs.112 cr was allocated for Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University.
Rs.3188 cr was allocated for providing free power.
Rs. 60 cr was allocated for fisheries industry.
Rs. 192 cr for N.G.Ranga Agricultural University
An amount of Rs. 59 cr was allocated for oil seeds and oil farm machines.
An amount of Rs. 122 cr was sanctioned for silk industry.
Veterinary department will get an amount of Rs.723 cr.
Cooperation department will get an amount of Rs.156 cr.
Farm loans upto Rs. 3 lakhs with Pavala Vaddi.
An amount of Rs.230 cr was allocated for Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana scheme.
Agriculture Minister Pulla Rao told the Assembly that despite being in a severe financial crunch, his government is committed to do the loan waiver to the farmers. He said 5000 Crore was allocated for this in the budget and Government is looking at various ways to accommodate funds for the remaining. Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma puts up the same in the Council.
