TRS MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh filed a fresh petition in the High Court appealing it to suspend its order declaring his election from Vemulavada constituency is invalid for a brief period, so that he could appeal against it in Supreme court.
Last Week, Andhra Pradesh High Court stated Chennamaneni Ramesh isn't Indian Citizen after declaring his election from Vemulawada constituency in Karimnagar as illegal citing the false documents filed by him.
Union Home Ministry received a complaint against Chennamaneni Ramesh in 2009 that he submitted false documents stating he holds dual citizenship and stayed in India for one year to contest the elections. Home Ministry issued a show cause notice and began an enquiry. In return, the MLA approached the High Court seeking cancellation of the enquiry. However, HC directed the Home Ministry to continue its enquiry and based on the final report it has declared Ramesh as a non-Indian.
Chennamaneni Ramesh worked as a professor in USA and he was in TDP till 2009. After KCR's fast-unto-death he joined TRS and contested the by-polls to become an MLA.
