Gujarati film The Good Road directed by a debutant filmmaker Gyan Correa has been picked up as India's official entry for Oscar Awards 2013. A committee headed by renowned Bengali filmmaker Gautam Ghose have taken the decision. The film stars Ajay Gehi, Keval Katrodia and Sonali Kulkarni. It about three stories - A truck driver trying to fake his death for insurance amount, an urban couple separated from their young son at a dhaba and a 11-year-old girl in search of her grandmother.
Everyone expected Bollywood film The Lunch Box starring Irrfan Khan to get selected as India's oscar entry. However, The Good Road won the race by a slight margin.
Other films which competed in the race include Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Ship of Theseus, English Vinglish and Shabdo.
