It was an unexpected beer party for the villagers living near to Bareilly and for the crowd, it was an absolute gift of free beer. A truck loaded with cartons of beer met with an accident on Bada by pass on Saturday and the villagers living around the area thronged to get the beers. With faces full of joy, they walked away with crates of cases and even came back for more, carrying the free liquor for friends.
As soon, word spread and villagers dashed from their houses carrying jerry cans, tumblers, mugs, jars, even polythene bags to carry beer home. Not only locals from adjoining villages, even commuters started drinking the beer at the spot and consumed at the place until they felt full. Some even packed the cartons in their cars.
Finally someone alerted the cops and found themselves against a riotous crowd.The accident reportedly occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle after a bicycle rider came in front of the bus suddenly. The truck driver and his brother were rescued by the locals.
