Movie Artistes Association election has become a suspense thriller for people of the two Telugu states. The election saw a battle between MAA members and witnessed a divide too between groups supported by Muralimohan and Mega camp.
Finally Rajendra Prasad group emerged victorious by beating Murali Mohan group with 83 votes margin.As usual some analysis was started about the defeat and film nagar people are discussing about the reasons behind defeat of powerful Murali Mohan team.
1)Murali Mohan has been ruling MAA for several years and had alienated himself from the several character actors and junior artistes. This caused anger among the small time artisrs and they took revenge with their votes.
2) MAA become inaccessible to many poor artists because of its Rs. 1 lakh membership fee. Rajendra Prasad promised to cut down the membership fee to a nominal level so that every artist in the industry can become a member in MAA
3)Only a half of the total voters had actually voted. Most of Jayasudha’s supporters are big stars. But, except Balakrishna not many turned up to vote. Many of the top stars not participated in voting and it turned as boon for Rajendra Prasad team. Small artistes, who turned out in big numbers, have ensured that Murali Mohan’s panel is defeated
4)As per reports some of the artists were upset over the continued domination of one political party over the MAA. There are reports that a major political party of Telangana region had mobilized support for Rajendra Prasad.
