The merging rumors of TRS and Congress creating flutter in Telangana. Both Congress and TRS on gave divergent versions on the issue of merger even after their leaders have held a series of meetings since Parliament gave its nod for creation of Telangana last week.
TRS politburo meeting is scheduled for March 1 to discuss next strategy including the possibility of alliance with Congress in the wake of the Parliament passing the Telangana Bill. But TRS leaders already gave hints about the non-possibility of merging with congress.
TRS legislature Harish Rao denied the merger talk and said there was no need for TRS to merge with congress now. “Ours is a big party in Telangana and congress is very small party in the region. Why shall we merge with a small party like congress in the state,” Harish asked
When a journalist asked Mr. Harish over their decision on the merger with congress, he said his party cadre is not interested in merging with congress and emphasized that decision on merger will only come after the appointment date of Telangana by the president.
So, presently no merger is going to happen as it’s been confirmed by the party members
