The National party didn't even spare cricketers. It is known that cricketer Mohammad Kaif is the Congress candidate from Phulpur constituency in 2014 Polls.

10 days ago, Congress approached Indian star cricketer Virender Sehwag with a proposal that he will be party's Lok Sabha candidate from West Delhi constituency if taken a plunge into politics. However, he softy turned down the offer citing his prior commitments.

Sehwag wishes to play Indian Premier League (IPL) for the next two years and he will announce his retirement to International cricket only then.
