Its known news that AIADMK leader AMMA Jayalalithaa is presently lodged in Parappana Agrahara jail in the outskirts of Bangalore city. According to reports from Jail sources jaya has declined to meet any visitor, including Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.
After Jayalalitha sentenced to Jail Panneerselvam had become chief minister . Panneerselvam took oath as CM and he accompanied by a few senior ministers, had flown into Bangalore to seek blessings of Amma.Much to his surprise Jaya refused to meet him.
‘’The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had come to meet Jayalalithaa in the prison around 11am, but she refused to meet him. She didn’t come out of her cell. Mr Panneerselvam after waiting for a while left the prison campus,” said an official source.
While many raised questions over Jayalalithaa's decision of not meeting the newly appointed CM, sources informed that the Puratchi Thalaivi took on the decision on moral ground. According to Jayalalithaa, a CM of a state should not meet a prisoner in a jail and shouls concemtrate on administration
According to reports coming from Jail Jayalalithaa conveyed the message through prison staff ansd asked the CM to focus on administration rather than meeting her.
Meanwhile, the Central Prison authorities allowed Jayalalithaa to have her favorite wire knit chair. A special court in Bangalore late Saturday sentenced Jayalalithaa to four years in prison and fined her Rs 100 crore for amassing wealth illegally when she was the chief minister in 1991-96.
