As BJP earned full majority to form the government in Haryana, The race for Chief Minister post has intensified and a lot of party seniors have been lobbying for the top post.
Apparently, Union Minister Sushma Swaraj and former party chief Krishnapal Gurjar are the top contenders for CM post.
Sushma Swaraj who is currently the external affairs minister in Narendra Modi's cabinet hails from Haryana and she was very active in the poll campaigning in the state. On the other hand, Krishnapal Gurjar who is an MP representing Faridabad served as state BJP chief earlier and enjoys the support of a dominant Gurjar community.
In the 90-member Assembly, Party requires 46 seats to form the government and BJP has been leading in 50-plus seats at the moment to claim power.
