Seven Congress MPs including six Lok Sabha and one Rajya Sabha member resigned on Friday to protest the announcement of a separate Telangana state. List of MPs who submitted their resignations to Lok Sabha secretary general TK Vishwanathan - Vundavalli Arun Kumar (Rajahmundry), Lagadapati Rajagopal (Vijayawada), A Sai Prathap (Rajampet constituency), Anantha Venkatarami Reddy (Anantapur) C V Harsha Kumar (Amalapuram-SC) and SPY Reddy (Nandyal). On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao submitted his resignation to the Upper House secretary general Shamsher K Sheriff.
Earlier, About three MPs Rayapati Sambasiva Rao (Guntur), Sabbam Hari (Anakapalli) and Srinivasulu Reddy (Ongole) faxed their resignations.
About four Union ministers (Pallam Raju, Purandeswari, JD Seelam and Killi Kruparani) have threatened to resign if Congress leadership fails to take back its decision to divide state.
Congress have 33 MPs in AP and out of them 19 belong to Seemandhra region. The mass resignation have been leading to a political crisis in the state and the leaders still feel they can make the Centre hold back its decision on Telangana.
