Mallu dusky siren Amala Paul married with Tamil director Vijay Thursday in a traditional Hindu style wedding. While Amala was dressed in a red Kanjivaram sari, Vijay was draped in a sparkling white dhoti and shirt.
Few days back Amala and Vijay engaged in Christian style by exchanging rings. But the couple involved in unexpected controversy for not following the rules of Christian marriage.As it so happened, the engagement has been called invalid by the Church.
A section of people from the Christian community started accusing the new couple of violating the basic rules of a Christian engagement. Later Amala Paul father Varghese and Church denied the betrothal calling it as invalid. However, Varghese calls the engagement affair as just a prayer.
Varghese said that the couple had only gone to the Church to offer prayers the other day and displayed to the media the rings they had exchanged earlier.
“Amala grew up in and around the St. Jude Church, Aluva in Kochi and had special affection towards the church and it was only because of that that they decided to have the prayer there and that was not engagement,” Verghese issued a press statement.
Amala and Vijay are seeing each other from past few years when the latter directed her in Nanna movie.Amala acted in several tollywood films including Iddarammayilatho and Nayak.
