Ishaan Sadhana Dham, a charitable trust based here, Sunday sent the first instalment of more than 12,000 kg of relief material, including food, clothes and medicines, to flood-hit Uttarakhand, a trust official said.
The relief material was collected by the charity under its campaign 'Let's not just Sympathise, Let's Act' launched three days ago.
"Under the programme, people donated packed and ready-to-eat food, raw foodgrains, medicines, clothes, sheets, quilts, torches and candles for the people stranded in Uttarakhand," a spokesperson of the trust said.
The trust will collect more such material and send it to the disaster-hit state, the spokesperson added.
