The CONTENT
Gautham Nanda (Pawan Kalyan) is a millionaire heir of his grandfather’s (Boman Irani) Nanda group. However during his childhood his grandfather storms his daughter Sunanda (Nadiya) out of home, as he marries a small-time lawyer (Rao Ramesh) without consent. From then, grandfather actually dies every moment and lives only to unite with her daughter. As he seeks his daughter’s return as 80th birthday gift, grandson Gautham sets for India to bring back his Attayya. After coming to India, Gautham changes his name as Siddarth and joins as driver in Attayya’s house. He rescues his Attayya’s family on three occasions. But due to his costly habits, his aunt Sunanda finds out who he is and says that he can’t convince her to come back. So, what will Gautham do now? What role Sunanda’s daughters Pramila (Praneetha) and Sasi (Samantha) play in the plans of Gautham? That’s you have to watch on big screen.
The EFFORT :
On-Screen:
One word is enough to talk about Pawan Kalyan. As his title says, Power is what we can see while he performs that rich brat role. However what catches attention is his toned down performance as a driver, and as a rich brat in the immediate scene. Pawan’s mannerisms, dialogue delivery and hair rising performance in climax will beat the odds out.
After Pawan, everyone got their roles well crafted and they have performed in the same way. Nadiya has done one more interesting role again and no doubt she dominated the two heroines I say. However Samantha’s naughty performance if first of its kind for her, and again she wins hearts of youths. Praneetha is looking gorgeous as usual. Rao Ramesh has once again delivered the best and is slowly becoming the much needed Telugu character artist of all movies.
Coming to this comedy department, MS Narayana’s punches, Ali’s eased comic timing and comedy king Brahmanandam will all push you out of seats at times needed. Kota Srinivasarao’s small villain role is good to watch.
But if you are expecting too much from item girls Mumtaz and Hamsa Nandini, then hold on, they are simply like aunties next door and no masala treat this time.
Off-Screen:
Trivikram has once again picked up a regular story but tried to give his mark of screenplay treatment to it. Though he failed to give that treatment, the presence of Pawan Kalyan saved him and one will award 1000 marks for 100 because of this matinee idol’s terrific carrying of even silly dialogues. One will wonder why Trivikram lost that dialogue magic in this movie, as no dialogue except a couple are really impressive. Otherwise, Trivikram knows how to handle all of his characters and make the best out of them.
Devi Sri Prasad’s music is already a hit, but his background score is not as racy as earlier. However, the presence of Pawan wills anyway subdues the sound, and that might have happened here too. Cinematography and art direction are good but not top notch. Same is the case with choreography too.
The PLUSES:
· 1-10 : Pawan Kalyan
· 11 : Two Hilarious comedy episodes with Brahmi
· 12 : Powerful climax with emotional characterization
· 13 : Entertainment
· 14 : Samantha
The MINUSES:
· Weak screenplay
· Predictable scenes
BREAKDOWN:
When they said Gabbar Singh became huge blockbuster because of Pawan, everyone wondered. But now they will confirm. This film is going to run for months in theatres only because of the star factor again. Director Trivikram has picked up a simple story with no twists and turns, but just with Pawan and dialogues. Maybe he thought that rather going for new story, making his hero do some new scenes will convince audience more. That is why he made Pawan act like teasing youth, act like a rich brat with dominating attitude, again an understanding family member and then a good lover.
We cannot call this as Trivikram’s movie as the 10% of his story is dominated by the 90% of Pawan’s acting to make this movie 100% successful. Fans will go berserk after watching Pawan’s spectacle fight, baba episode and Indrudu-Ahalya drama episode. Maybe regular moviegoers will feel like they didn’t get some new stuff, but climax is going to make them super satisfied. Pawan’s emotional break down with his trademark style acting is
The FINISHING Line: Pawan Kalyan Shows Power Again
