Jailed AP Minister suffers Heart Stroke

Tainted minister Mopidevi Venkatramana suffered a mild heart stroke in Chanchalguda jail on Monday. After first aid, he was rushed to the Osmania Hospital for further treatment.

Doctors who have been treating him have confirmed that his BP levels have increased and he will be kept under examination for the next few days. Jail Authorities have maintained if required Mopidevi would be shifted to some private hospital for better treatment.

CBI named Mopidevi in the charge sheet of Jagan's disproportionate assets case for the GOs passed allotting 28,000 acres of land during YSR's tenure favoring Vanpic project. During the period of 2008-2009, Mopidevi issued as many as 11 GOs related to the Vanpic project. He was taken into custody in May last year by the investigative sleuths and was denied bail by the court since one year.

After getting elected as MLA from Repalle assembly segment in Guntur for the second time, Mopidevi was made Education Minister by YSR in 2007 and got shifted to Infrastructures and Ports in 2008. During CM Kiran Kumar Reddy's tenure, he was made Excise Minister.
