YSR Congress honorary president YS Vijayamma revealed that she had stopped her son from sitting on fast in prison after the Centre's announcement on July 30th by promising that she would go on indefinite fast protesting the division of state on his behalf. "For the first time ever, Jagan complained restlessness in jail and that's when the division of state was announced. I feared that Jagan might be shifted from Chanchalguda to a prison in some other state if he begin the fast and there is a possibility of jail officials canceling the two mulaqats per week for family in such scenario," she said.
Vijayamma accused Congress is aiming at the Lok Sabha seats in Telangana region with the division of Andhra Pradesh. Claiming that YSR Congress isn't against Telangana, she said her party is opposing the way it was done and reiterated the bifurcation process willn't be allowed to proceed if injustice was done to Seemandhra region. She opined both Telangana and Seemandhra would suffer for generations if the process of division takes place based on the illogical proposals of Congress.
Ridiculing Chandrababu's Rs 4 lakh crore package demand for building new capital, Vijayamma asserted that the issue isn't about money but safety & security of Seemandhra people in Hyderabad and assurances on water sharing, revenue, electricity and others key aspects.
