Telugu Film Industry emerged as the one to produce most number of films in the country from April 1st (2013) to March 31st (2014). Tollywood delivered a massive 349 films to claim the top honour. While 328 films have been made in Kollywood, The count in 263 for Bollywood during this one year period.
In 2012-13, Kollywood was leading with 306 film and Tollywood settled with 2nd place for making 280 films. On the other hand, Bollywood accounted for 255 films. Malayalam (201), Bengali (162) and Marathi (160) occupy the other top spots.
As for Film Federation of India, There is increase of 298 films this year when compared to last year. While 1,724 films have been made in 2012-13 all over India, the count reached 1,966 films this year.
Analysts say, The digital revolution which gives an opportunity for passionate filmmakers to prove their talent by making a decent film with a budget of just Rs 10 lakhs is one of reason behind the increase in rise in number of films. Sadly, There is no much improvement in the success rate as it remains to be at 10 percent all the time.
