BJP leader Gopinath Munde was in troubles by saying that he spent Rs. 8 Crores for 2009 Lok sabha elections. According to election protocol, election commission sent notice to take action on him and also asked him to give justification within 20 days. Commission mentioned in notice that why they can’t take action on him and announce him as not eligible according to public representative act. There is condition at that time that person who participated in parliament elections should not spend more than Rs.25 lakhs.
Recently Munde participated in a book inauguration function in Mumbai. He said that he spent Rs 29000 when he first participated in assembly elections in 1980 then for his last election that amount raised to Rs. 8 crores. He told the expenditure for elections was increased a lot! Gopinath Munde is doing as BJP Deputy Leader in Lok sabha and continuing as beed constituency MP. He said recently that he spent Rs.8 Crores for elections and in affidavit he showed that as Rs. 1926922 to commission.
