Exclusive: Naidu's class to Sunil Mittal & TSPs!

Update: 2014-10-16 15:55 GMT
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minster Chandrababu Naidu breathed fire at Telecom Service Providers for failing to resolve the connectivity issues even days after cyclone Hudhud devastated Visakhapatnam coast.

Apparently, Top Executives of Telecom Service Providers including Bharti Group chairman Sunil Mittal have attended the high-level meeting held in Visakha on Thursday. Sunil Mittal conveyed to Naidu that mobile services would be restored by October 18th evening.

Chandrababu lashed out at Telecom Service Providers,"You are totally commercial...exploiting government and public. My efficiency has gone by 50% because of the communication gap as I was unable to interact with the officials on field. Five Horse Power Diesel Generators are available even in villages but Telecom Service Providers doesn't want to use diesel to run mobile towers as it is expensive. You are being driven by profit motive not service motive".

The Chief Minister asked Telecom Service Providers to arrange mobile charging points and 3G services to officials in cyclone ravaged areas to ensure relief and restoration works progress at a rapid pace. He also appealed them to introduce low-tariff plans in cyclone affected districts.
