There were no surprises in the legislative council elections in the state of Andhra Pradesh. There were four vacancies under MLA’S quota and all the four candidates who have filed nominations have been declared elected unopposed. Monday afternoon is the cut off time to withdraw nominations.
With this Prathibha Bharathi, MA Sharif were elected form TDP and Somu Veerraju elected from BJP. Govinda Reddy is YSCRP nominee and he also became MLC. However an official announcement is yet to come.
However the election in Telangana state is going to be more interesting. There are six seats but seven candidates are competing making election has become inevitable in Telangana council.
While Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari, minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Neti Vidyasagar, Bodakunta Venkateswarlu and Yadavareddy are contesting on behalf of the TRS, Akula Lalitha is from the Congress and Vem Narender Reddy is from the TDP-BJP combine. TRS announced its fifth candidate to scuttle the chances of TDP to bag the one seat it can win with the support of BJP.
