Chetan Bhagat has emerged as the costliest writer in the country after the film adaptations of his books '3 Idiots', '2 States' went on to become money spinners at the Box Office. This most popular writer's new book 'Half Girlfriend' has miffed a Bollywood beauty and she is none other than Neetu Chandra (Sekhar Kammula's Godavari fame).
Apparently, The protagonist in 'Half Girlfriend' is a boy from Bihar and he lacks English conversational skills. Neetu Chandra who hails from Bihar has lashed out at Chetan Bhagat for stereotyping Biharis in the novel. "He makes his Bihari protagonist, incidentally from my town Dumraon, as someone who is bad at English. But to Chetan Bhagat's disappointment, let me tell you guys, the first ever English novel in this country was written by Dean Mohammad from Bhojpur region in Bihar in 1793. Better luck next time Chetan. Biharis have better English than your imagination. Bhagat Bhai, Bihar ke aankh se dekha ja ke, khali kaan se maat suna," she asserts.
